This spring, get properly ready for your getaways
Tips
With the arrival of spring, warmer temperatures and kinder weather, motorcycle rides regain all their appeal after months of cold, rain, and darkness. Whether you’re eager to gear up for a motorcycle getaway or you’ve already started riding again, let us share a few tips and recommendations so that your spring route is as comfortable and safe as possible.
Check your motorcycle’s maintenance condition
Many people leave their bikes parked during the colder seasons of the year, so now that good weather is back and the motorcycle itch returns, it’s important to be aware that it may not be in the same condition as when you last rode it.
In addition, if you’re planning a route along mountain roads, it’s essential to check your tyres, brakes, chain and suspension, as these are the parts that suffer the most and must always be in top shape to ensure a safe ride.
Rider gear matters
It’s not the first time we’ve mentioned that motorcyclist clothing is one of the most important elements to consider for any kind of route or getaway. In spring, it’s essential that you gear up according to the journey you’re going to take, since a short city ride is not the same as a long road trip.
As for the only mandatory item, the helmet, remember it must always be your size, properly fastened, and of course, approved. As for the rest of your clothing, for longer journeys, it’s advisable to wear special motorcycle trousers and a jacket. We also recommend travelling with protective padding on your back, shoulders and elbows, as well as specific boots and gloves.
Focus on the road and adjust your speed
Avoid distractions and stay alert at all times. On roads with many bends, a lack of attention can increase the risk. Take extra care on blind corners with limited visibility and adjust your speed to the overall road conditions.
